This morning, I stumbled across this short but poignant reflective essay by poet Dorothea Lasky (seriously, read and study her work!). In it, she addresses the act of creativity as an act of intrinsic motivation, but also as an act that can affirm who we are, and save us.

As a writing exercise, consider journaling about what makes you feel creative? What acts of creativity are you largely drawn to, and why? How do these acts of creativity make you feel more human, and more whole?

Perhaps, if we all reflected on these questions, we could use our creative power to do good in the world.
