Thresholds

There are thresholds of comfort we enter into in our lives.

Like the permission we allow ourselves to fart in public.

Like the moment we are okay with letting out a burp in front of our families.

Or a public burp at a meal.

Or a burp in front of a significant other.

Like the moment we are able to go public with bare unshaven legs.

Or the allowance we grant ourselves to enjoy sex, with these unshaven beauties.

Or the permission we allow for a fart in front of a romantic partner, audible or not.

Or better yet, a fart during sex.

Then there are the reversal of allowances.

For instance, when we go from being too naive to know everyone else is shaving their genitalia. To when we become ashamed for not taming our own.

And then there's the moment we can knowingly bare a camel toe on a sunny Saturday in May, while making new friends.
